FACTS II is the evident continuation of the FACTS I project completed. It is being financed by the EU commission, aimed to help address many serious problems that Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia and Turkey have in the woodworking and furniture sectors. The project aim is to help enterprises improve their knowledge of the acquis. The UEA has made a selection of legislation which concern most directly the companies in both sectors and which have a mandatory nature.

The UEA has also developed a series of auto diagnostic evaluation tools to check the compliance of the companies with the acquis communautaire as well as online audits which allows concerned manufacturers to evaluate themselves and compare their results with the overall performance of others.

These tools are intended to identify shortcomings which will have to be resolved by the manufacturers and can be applied by the manufacturers themselves or by external experts.

The statistical data generated through the audits will make it possible to identify problem areas within the different countries.
