The Furniture Cluster in the European Union


 

The furniture sector is a basic industry in most of the industrialised countries, representing in general between 2 and 4% of the production value of the manufacturing sector, around 2% of the GDP and 2.2% of the total workforce. In addition, respectively 250,000 persons and 600,000 persons work in the suppliers’ industries to satisfy the needs of the industry and in the furniture retailing.
